Hello!
My name is José and im Portuguese.
I recently bought a M3 e46 and I should receive im in 17/08/2001.
I never drove a Bmw M car, because in portugal the dealears don't have money to buy them (or don't want...). In all portugal the number of M cars is no bigger than maybe 50!
I test drive a porsche 911 (996) carrera and diden't like im. It is well bild but is not as quick as I aspected!!! So I dicided for the M3. Did I make a correct choice???
My car will have the color 416 (carbonschbartz) with imolarot leather and 19'' whells. I asked for im to be finiched with titanium in the interior but they told me today that bmw dosn't make them like this no more! to bad...
What do you think about the combibations of colours that I asked.
Please telme some think about your driving expirence with te your car. Thank you and sorry for any inglish mistake :-)

Hi Jmaio,

Congrats on your M3 purchase! You will love it! But I must tell you that the E46 M3 will not be noticeably faster than the Carrera. It does have more horses but weighs alittle more; most tests have shown the E46 M3 turning mid 13's in the 1/4...same range as the vette, carrera..and even a Trans Am or Z28...

But M3 is ALOT more than just speed! I personally think the M3's greatest traits are it's handling and steering feedback. There are not many cars that allow you to drive at 9/10th of one's abilities. The M gives you the confidence and information to drive it at 10/10th of your abilities! The car is very predictable in it's handling traits and very forgiving of mistakes...which allows you to be a better driver!

Email me some pics when you get it in and I will post it here. I will be posting photos of mine in next week hopefully. I will also post first driving impressions..compared to the vette and the 95 E36 M3.
