hifiman, How do you know for sure that the November Production of the 2002 M3 will be available w/ SMGII . BMW NA sent me an e-mail saying that the option is not available and that they do not have an estimated time to availability... Sri IP: Logged |

Good stuff hifiman! I thought it was going to be available even sooner...the SMG II i mean. but nov probably sounds more reasonable. Regarding the steering...I have had a march prod delivered in Apr and a June prod delivered in July...the first was replace by the dealership...anyway, the steering on the second car seems more weighted and closer to my E36 M3...still not as good but closer and MUCH better than the first car. So I am thinking they might have made the change late in the 2001 prod year. Just subjective feeling based on the two cars. I also heard that the bumper would be revised and lightened to shed about 20lbs. Thanks for sharing the info Frank IP: Logged |

For 2002 the 3 series is getting a new freshened up front end, including a new hood, fenders, bumper, grill and headlamps. At the rear are new tail lights. If you want to take a look click here: http://www.bmw.com/e46_3/en/int/substanz.html The 64 dollar question is: Will these changes also be included on the 2002 M3? Does anyone know?
