What is the speed of the 2001 M3 coupe after the 155 mph limiter has been removed? I heard the M5 unrestricted hits a true 180 mph! I also heard the Merc E55 which has 16 more hp hits 175 true speed and if you change the final gearing it can run a true 190 mph!

I think I did read somewhere that they hit 180 with the M3 ... but Im not sure how this is possible.

For comparision, the vette has about the same amount of hp...but more importantly at those speeds, much more aerodynamic body...but it's top speed I think is around 175-180 (never wanted to hit those speeds with my C5...actually i personally wouldnt drive over 150 in the C5 vette...to scary

I think the M3 is probably good for 160 to 165 I would guess..purely a guess.
