I was curious if anyone had done the european delivery. My wife and i are on the list for a 2002 M3 but after reading about the required break-in, i'm wondering if would be wise. Thanks. IP: Logged |

I have not talked to anyone who has done the euro del for the E46 M3. Im not so sure the euro del is really suited for the M3..just my opinion. First, there probably isn't a price differential so you wont be saving any money except maybe the cost of rental if you're planning a trip there anyway...well plus you get to try your M3 on the autobahn etc. Here's the thing for me though and as you say it's the break in period plus the fact that it's such a new engine (i.e new production) that Im not so sure I would want to be THAT far away from home with my new car. But Im pretty paranoid and highly sensitive about my car so that may just be me. Btw, the break-in is 1200 miles...no full throttle, rpm below 5500, and speed below 110 (i think it's 110, too lazy to go downstairs and check just my 2cents worth on the issue..but remember I have never done a euro del myself. happy motoring! correct me if I'm wrong, but Euro delivery program doesn't neccessarily means going to Germany for a week vacation and drive your car on the autobahn and then have it shipped home when you leave kind of deal. I believe you can also buy it directly from europe, with US specs, and have the car shipped to the states instead of ordering it through a US dealership and be on the waiting list. hmmm...im not sure. I thought you had to go thru a U.S. dealership for the euro delivery. The U.S. dealership network probably wouldn't stand for additional allocation being saved for deals out of the network. Plus, Im not so sure who you would buy the car from then...BMW NA? If there was such an arrangement, it would be a good thing! No wait! ...but probably not. IP: Logged |

Thanks for all your input on the euro. delivery. i have discussed this with my dealer, if I can buy a US spec M3 in Germany and have it shipped here, he's not telling me. I personally do not see that going over to well with US dealers. Just my thought. I would love to drive my M3 from Munich through the alps down to Milan, Italy. ). At 1200 miles, the break in differential fluid is replaced with the reg diff fluid.
