There's an article about a MST Wiesmann modified E46 M3 in this month's "European Car" (9/01). They did alot of work to shed the weight (the stock M3 is alittle heavy at almost 3500lbs). What's interesting is that the fully adjustable M3 seats (elect/side bols) weigh 40kgs (88lbs?) each! They switched them out with Porsche GT3 seats which weigh 12kg for the pair!

It pretty interesting to see how they took off some of the weight...doesn't look like they did much with the engine; engine is pretty good as it is to me!

I have not read that article yet, but we all know about horsepower to weight ratio.
