Based on the CSL of the Seventies, the M3 CSL is at the moment only a concept. It's weight has been reduced by 200kg, through the use of carbon-fibre where possible, and things such as thinner glass, lightweight sports seats,lighter door trim,etc. Power has been increased to 350bhp in European Spec. The body has been stiffened. Aerodynamics have also been enhanced in aid of greater performance limits. The good news is that the CSL has gained a lot of support from within BMW, as it demonstrates BMW's motorsport experience and is the ultimate expression of the M division's capailities. While it has not received the official go-ahead, insiders hint that the car may go on sale as early as next year. The estimated price for this Porsche 911 GT3 rival is expected to be around $67,000 in base form. IP: Logged |
