Ran into my first problem with my E36 '98 M3 today. We recently had a 2 week period of snowstorms and ice in the area, and the mechanism for my exterior fuel door has been damaged as a result. The locking mechanism will deploy without any problems but it won't retract the deadbolt. Does anyone know where the manual release switch is for this? I looked into where the owner's manual says a switch exists and I couldn't find it. Any thoughts?

Hi ekyang thanks for visiting my little website!

Sorry to hear about the fuel door prob but just a minor thing

Anyway, the release for the fuel door is in the trunk...to the right you should see a thin wire...you might want to try lifting up the trunk floor...it's there...but if it's still not working you should just take it in.

Let me know what happens!
