Hi Guys,

I am looking at getting another car, and an E36 M3 is one of mmy preferred options. However, one of my requirements is that I need to be able to tow about 1600kg (~3500lb). I have an Alfa Romeo which I race, and I need to be able to tow it to the track. All up weight trailer and race car is about 1550kg.

Could someone please check their M3 Owner's Manual to see what the specificed towing weight limit is for their E36. I have been told that it is the same as the rest of the 3 series cars (1600kg), but as yet haven't found anything that confirms that.

Thanks in advance,

Dave,

I tried reading through my manual and it doesn't mention this anywhere. You might want to call a dealership to ask that. I know there are 2 adapters (front, back) on the M3 where your car could be towed but it's not used to tow other cars or objects. Maybe this car isn't made for that. I'm not sure. You might also want to post this question on www.bimmer.org's message board. Good luck.
