ok, i give up. what is the secret to releasing the fog lights to replace them.

LOL. They are not that hard, once you know the secret. There are two ways to do this.

The first way is the easiest, but has the most potential to do damage.

If you look at the foglight from the front, you will see a little "cutout" in the upper inner corner of each light. It is possible to insert a phillips screwdriver in there and push inward. However, it is EASY to break that mechanism! I know!

The harder way is to remove the front shield under the car. Reach up and yank on the foglight release. Again, upper inside corner of the light. Once you get one out, you can examine the mechanism and how to use the phillips without breaking it.
