Hey anyone has suggestions on cold air intakes for 98 model??
I was looking at Dinan intakes, Howerver, the intakes by turnermotorsports has a heat shield and it seems more efficient.
Which one is better, with/without ODBII software upgrades??
THanks

although dinan seems better cuz the name, i think the turner will be better(if its the Conforti intake). especially with the chip, the Turner system will be more efficient that the Dinan. Dinan is a little cheaper.....but thats becuz it doesnt give as much power.

I just ordered a ECIS cold air intake system (http://www.ecisbmw.com/product_files/intakes/intakes.htm) ....which is cheaper and less efficient.
but thas becuz I dont want to pay over 400 for a simple intake.
good luck wit ur buy.

I like the ECIS intake, however, I head all turner, dinan yield the same performance. Depending on the look on your car, the ECIS is more raw, with big cone filter and more exposed, although you can get an intake cover would do the job, the dinan CF tub is appealing and does the job, its a different system with the intake extends outside the engine bay. Now, can you tell me why dinan is less efficient than J C intake??

im sorry I can't really say why dinan is less efficient (it may even be more efficient)...but according to dyno runs and talkin to ppl who who use the conforti intake, it seems better.

I've got the Turner w/ the conforti and Dinan software, it brought it up to 268hp and 273 torque.

i have conforti cai w/ the shark injector. i haven't dynoed it but i can tell i didn't gain 25 hp. the cai definitly improved the exhaust note. and the software smoothed out the rev. maybe 5-10 hp increase. i hear dinan is better of the two in software but not reversible like conforti. cai, go w/ conforti, makes more sense w/ the heat shield. if i had to do it again, i'd prob. put that money into suspension work first.

Hi, I'm considering getting one to, did it make much difference to performance, economy etc. I presently have fitted a K&N replacement filter, can't say I'm very impressed.
