Went to irvine BMW to look @ M3's. Dressed properly, driving a CLK55. Salesperson was VERY aloof and was obviously bothered with having to answer questions.. I informed him I was a serious buyer w/ check in hand and I wanted one of the M3 coupes they had on the showroom floor. I did however want to drive it prior to beginning any kind of transaction. The sales person informed me that they do not let people test drive M3's and that I'd have to go through all of my paperwork as if I was going to buy the car including financing paperwork. Then, I could drive the car. If I didn't want it, they'd destroy the paperwork and negate the deal. Also, they wanted 10k over MSRP. I was dumbfounded. I'd have to spend a couple of hours of time, to then overpay for a car I haven't even been able to drive? What a waste of time.. IP: Logged |

Its unfortunate that you had to go through that sh*t....My sales consultant at Competition BMW (Greenwich CT) is great. He made me test drive the M3 even before I put $1K down. He even advised me to go for the Oct 02 delivery so I can have the 2003 model. I know the factory is increasing production so I do not have to worry about not getting the car on time. He left the dealership to be finance manager at Porsche White Plains NY - a promotion for him. IP: Logged |
