I am thinking of purchasing a new m3 within the next year. Is anyone here familair with Mauro Motors in North Haven, CT? Do you know if they sell at MSRP. I see they have a 2001 with 15K miles and they want 51,900. I would hate to see how they markup the 2002's.

That doesn't sound like a good deal at all. I didn't run the numbers, but that price sounds pretty close to MSRP (perhaps higher) for a year-old car with a lot of miles.

Given that it's Laguna Seca Blue, it might have been one of the original demo cars that BMW shipped to dealerships, in which case those 15,000 miles would be especially hard miles.

All in all, this looks like a car to stay away from.

I want a new one, but I saw this one outside and the price startled me, if they are charging this much for used car, I would hate to see what they want for a new one. This is a really big dealership too.

remmie - don't let the price of the used one startle you. go to BMW's website and "build" the one you want. you can use edmunds too. whatever the MSRP comes out to be, that is what you can expect to pay in the new york metro area. the only drawback is that you will have to wait a few months.

i agree that you should stay away from the car you saw. that is a lot of miles for this car.

My Calgary dealer isn't marking up their '02s. They are however getting 5-10K Cdn over MSRP on their used E46 M3s. Crazy!

Just wait for the V-8. If you still want a six, they will be cheap($45K). $51K is too much, you might as well let them kick you in the nuts while your there.
