I guess i'm the guy who will intiate topics here ![]() But seriously, I have driven alot of vehicles with considerable torque, and i have to admit it, i love it. Now, I know the M3 is not a torque monster nor is that what it is engineered to be, but what can i do to increase the torque line on it? I saw (forgot which company) a turbo for around $6,000 and thought that was rather steep. What kind of performance increase am i looking at? Whatabout intercooling for it? Any heat problems? Hi Kael! Thanks for visiting M3Forum.com! As you can see this website just went up on 12/8/99 so appreciate the topic starters! Regarding improving torque on the M3...I would first do the basic mods first...exhaust, intake, and ...maybe the chip...after that if you still need more torque and are willing to spend the money, I would probably look at a supercharger system as opposed to a turbo...Im not an expert but I believe the supercharger will you better torque characteristics than a turbo. I think it's also less stressful on the engine. I was looking at one system for my 95 M3 from a company called ERT before I decided to get the E46...seems like they know what they are doing...the price I was looking at was around $7000 installed. With or without the mods, you can't go wrong with the M3! It's the most complete enthusiast car from a manufacturer! Thanks, ------------------ IP: Logged |
